Introducing Alienware Dual-Zone Liquid Cooling
Only Available on Alienware ALX Systems
When Alienware set out to create the best liquid cooling solution in the industry we took a hard look at traditional liquid cooling systems. We analyzed their strengths and weaknesses and studied what we could improve upon, and the changes we made were drastic. We had one goal in mind when designing our Dual-Zone liquid cooling system: To eliminate system heat as best as possible to allow for maximum Overclocking potentials. To understand how our Dual-Zone liquid cooling system is different from traditional units we’ll first explain how traditional units operate.
Traditional liquid cooling systems operate off one pump, a small radiator with fans, a liquid sump, cooling plates, and plastic hoses. Most radiators can be large and cumbersome to fit into a traditional chassis and still require large fans to cool them down.
Most small liquid cooling pumps often create more noise than existed with air cooling before and, if not tested properly, can fail under an extended period of use. Hoses and fittings must be calibrated for PSI strength and heat under stress, or liquid has the potential to leak and hoses can shrink under high heat, speeding up circulation and causing pump failure. You can see how it may be very risky to put a traditional liquid cooling system into your next high performance system.
Let’s say all your traditional liquid cooling materials have been tested and certified to be placed into a system. If you are planning on using your system to cool both your CPU and graphics you will never get optimal heat distribution because all heat must first pass through a full cooling cycle before returning back to its point of origin. This will pick up heat from primary peripherals before cooling the next. Even when liquid has made a full pass through a system it will still only be cooled around room temperature due to traditional cooling limitations.
By traditional contrast, Alienware’s Dual-Zone liquid cooling system is designed with dual independent self-contained liquid cooling systems, one that targets the CPU and a second that targets its dual graphics. The result is optimized heat load distribution between a system’s CPU and dual graphics, leading to a more efficient, effective, and higher performing system - with immense Overclocking potential. In addition to providing dual cooling solutions for the highest heat generating system peripherals, Alienware’s Dual-Zone liquid cooling system is able to bring liquid down below room temperature to a cool temperature before returning it to its full cooling path.
Alienware Dual-Zone liquid cooling is able to achieve maximum heat distribution and keep your system running quiet. Dual-Zone liquid cooling is only available on Alienware ALX systems.
