Flamegoat.net
Flamegoat.net is a gaming-oriented Web site that provides its audience with recent news, reviews and forums for gaming discussion.
While hot gaming topics make up the majority of the site’s content, Flamegoat was launched to bring awareness to Gamers 4 Life,
a charitable organization. The foundation, created in 2007, describes itself as “a group of gamers bonded together and dedicated
to helping St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,” in Memphis, Tenn. With a large following on www.justin.tv, the
site’s founders hope to bring attention back to the main site and, in turn, transfer that attention over to their charitable cause.
Alienware donates 30 Aurora m9700 to West Jefferson High School
When Hurricane Katrina unleashed its fury on the Louisiana-Mississippi coast in August 2005, coastal towns were demolished, citizens turned into evacuees in search of food and shelter and the nation stood still as parts of New Orleans were engulfed by water. Harvey, La., a New Orleans suburb, was fortunately located away from massive flooding; however, the town couldn’t avoid the destructive path of the 110-plus mph winds. In the midst of a lengthy rebuilding process, Harvey’s West Jefferson High School is just one of the millions of stories of schools, businesses, households, places of worship and community centers forced to pick up the pieces and overcome the devastation. To help during the healing process, Alienware presented West Jefferson with 30 Alienware Aurora m9700 notebooks to serve as mobile learning aids.
