Q – How do I get my free Windows® 7 upgrade?

A – Purchase a qualifying Alienware system between June 26, 2009, and December 31, 2009. When you receive your system, locate the Windows® 7 Upgrade Coupon. Then visit www.Windows7UpgradeOption.com and follow the site’s instructions to enter in your proof of purchase information. Microsoft will then ship to you your copy of Windows® 7 shortly after release of the software.

Q – When will I receive my copy of Windows® 7?

A – Microsoft has publically announced planned Windows® 7 availability on October 22, 2009. Customers who participate in the Windows® 7 Upgrade Program will be sent their copies of Windows® 7 shortly after release of the software.

Q – Am I eligible for a free Windows® 7 upgrade?

A – You are eligible if you purchase a qualifying Alienware system between June 26, 2009, and December 31, 2009. Qualifying Alienware systems are the following…

Laptops:M17x, M17, Area-51® m15x

Desktops:Area-51® X58, ALX X58, Area-51® 750i

Q – My system is not eligible for the free Windows® 7 upgrade. How can I update my system to Windows® 7? Can I purchase a Windows® 7 upgrade?

A – You may purchase a copy of Windows® 7 from the Alienware Gear Shop at the time of general availability of Windows® 7. You may also be able to purchase copies from retail stores at that time. Please note that depending on your current system configuration or operating system, you may require hardware or other upgrades before installing Windows® 7. You may need to make backup copies of all files currently on your hard drive before installing Windows® 7.

Q – Can I change the version/language of my Windows® 7 upgrade?

A – No. The Windows® 7 operating system version and language that you receive must be the same as the operating system version and language of Windows Vista that you purchased with your PC.
